New Orleans Pelicans Send Rookie E.J. Liddell to G-League
Pelicans’ 2022 NBA Draft pick, E.J. Liddell, is headed to the G-League after recovering from a season-ending knee injury. Liddell’s placement with the Birmingham Squadron comes as he attempts to boost his NBA career following a short stint with the main team.
Pelicans Rookie E.J. Liddell to G-League
Liddell, who was chosen as the 41st pick in the 2022 NBA Draft from The Ohio State University, was benched for the entire 2022-23 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. After appearing in just three games for the Pelicans this season, he’s now making his way to the G-League to further advance his professional basketball career.
E.J. Liddell’s Stats and Performance
– E.J. Liddell’s NBA career has been short and hampered due to his knee injury.
– Of his three appearances with the Pelicans, he averaged a mere 1.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in almost 3 minutes per game.
– Given his limited screen time, Liddell’s time in the G-League will provide a much-needed opportunity to gain experience and hopefully show his gameplay ability.
Looking Ahead
With the ACL injury far behind him, Liddell is expected to gradually build up his gameplay as he takes the floor with the Birmingham Squadron. The Pelicans putting their trust in Liddell’s recovery is an indication of their belief in his prospective contribution to the team in the future.
